Adult Ministries

Crafts and Conversation is one the busiest and “funnest” groups at St. James!  Originally they started as a small group that would make simple crafts (and sometimes not so simple!) to sell to help raise money for items that the church needed.  They have done a great deal toward this effort!  Recently, they’ve been concentrating on making items for those in need and giving them away.  These items include afghans and tote bags for foster children to carry their belongings in.  Currently, they are working on cloth bags for Sidewalk Sunday School children and Christmas gifts for the children that Tucson Metropolitan Ministries (TMM) cares for.   They meet at 9:00 AM on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Tuesday of every month.

They have also branched out to help Tucson Metropolitan Ministries, help fold the monthly newsletter for the church, and bag the Snak Pak food for Holaway School each Thursday.  Anytime anything needs to be done, they are always there to help!  They have become a close knit group of sisters… and any family can always use more sisters!  Come and join them and have fun while serving God and helping your community!

United Methodist Women
St. James has a very active United Methodist Women’s group that is committed to its Purpose:

United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ: to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

They study the many issues that affect women, youth and children in our community and around the world. They carry hope and their faith out into the community with their actions. They support the National Ministry, the Wesley Center, Phoenix, AZ., by providing baby items for their “Baby Bags”.  They also support Tucson Metropolitan Ministries Family Services and volunteer at their ReStore store.  Their meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  All women 16 years and older are welcome to join this group of ambitious and mission-minded women offering hope, faith and action to our neighbors!
