Pastor Bob Holliday

Rev. Bob Holliday was born in Niagara Falls, New York and lived in the western New York area until his family moved to Tucson. After graduating from Palo Verde High School where he first felt God calling him to ministry, Pastor Bob attended Eastern Arizona College and then the University of Arizona. Pastor Bob was also the sole survivor of an airplane crash while on a lifesaving search and rescue mission in eastern Arizona. Pastor Bob was first ordained as a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church and began a ministry of word and service in the secular world as a teacher in Tucson Unified School District while serving in various roles in the church. Feeling God’s call again, Pastor Bob worked with the Tucson Police Department until retiring where he helped form partnerships with the community for prevention, solving problems and improving quality of life. He helped organize Cops for Christ and gained national attention for his work in prevention, community service and creating a common vision. Pastor Bob has been involved in the ministry of service for most of his adult life networking with various community service organizations and government agencies. He has been a business owner/entrepreneur, past governor of Optimist International all the while bringing the living Jesus Christ to the young people and adults he has worked with over the years. Pastor Bob has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Arizona, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and a Master’s of Divinity from ILLIFF School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Pastor Bob has served at First United Methodist Church in Eloy and as the Sr. Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Safford. He has served as spiritual director for the AZ Walk to Emmaus, KAIROS Prison Ministry, AZ Chrysalis and  is currently the chairperson for the committee on restorative justice and prison reform for the Desert Southwest Annual Conference and serves as a committee member on the committee on Church Unity and Interfaith Concerns. Pastor Bob has been married to Cheryl for over 30 years and has two grown daughters; Jessica and Jennifer and a little Yorkshire terrier named Princess who runs their house.
